No two horses are alike. This is the fundamental theory of the Equus. Beyond training, attitude, heart, spirit and stamina is physics. Biomechanics play an important role on how your horse performs and reacts to situations. Through thousands of years of analytical research, it has been determined that altering a horse's gravitational, kinetic, and physical attributes can directly impact his performance. For example, a Jumper that consistently chips can benefit from a slight shortening of his stride. Or a Dressage horse who tends to slightly drop a shoulder in a certain direction can be corrected with a minute change in hoof angle by the blacksmith. The official definition of "collection" as quoted from the Viennese Riding Academy Manual is "The state of the horse in which the balance of the weight is transferred from the forehand to the engaged hindquarters." This is the basis on which every equestrian rides his or her horse, whether they know it or not. Unfortunately, this can be not only be a challenge but outright impossible if a horse is experiencing a weakness anywhere from the withers back. A bio-physical evaluation can ensure that your horse is performing at his optimum level. Here are some examples of the mechanical issues we can help your horse with:
Here are some other services we offer:
Coronet Cracks: Commonly known as "Quarter Cracks", these also include toe cracks and heel cracks. Coronet Cracks are cracks in the hoof wall that generate from the coronet band. These are most commonly seen in shod horses and are virtually non-existent in the barefoot horse. There is a method using acrylic, Kevlar fibers, drains, and copper wire that will completely eradicate the problem. The pain caused by a crack is due to the constant opening and closing motion of the hoof wall. Gone are the days that require weeks of remedy. We guarantee that your horse will walk away from a crack repair or your money will be refunded. Hoof Reconstruction: With the modern developments in acrylics and composites, we can now very easily and effectively save horses that were otherwise doomed. Interactive Scheduling: You know have the peace of mind of knowing that your farrier is available for you. With our routine scheduling, you no longer have to run after your farrier, or tear your hair out in frustration because you're leaving the next day for a horse show and your horse's feet are over due. Your horse's appointments are on a schedule of your choice and we will call you when your horse is due. Furthermore, simply email us a list of shows you plan to attend and we can adjust the schedule ahead of time to ensure that your horse's hoof needs are looked after. The last thing we want you to worry about as you enter the ring is your horse's feet and shoes.
